Part of VIB Technologies, our satellite facility at the VIB Center for Molecular Neurology (CMN) provides access to cutting-edge technologies for single-cell level sample analysis. The satellite offers on-site support in flow cytometry and single-cell omics under the wings of VIB Single Cell Core and VIB Flow Core.

Single-cell omics at your fingertips
At the VIB Tech Satellite Antwerp, we offer on-site support in single-cell omics workflows, in direct collaboration with VIB Single Cell Core. We offer end-to-end service and expertise for researchers that want to elevate their research at single-cell level. Our streamlined service workflows allow direct access to single-cell technologies without the need for extensive optimalization, starting from experimental design to sample prep, acquisition to data analysis. Our facility operates as a satellite of VIB Single Cell Core, supporting on-site sample preparation, wet-lab single-cell workflows and serves as a contact point for researchers at VIB Antwerp, as well as external academic and industrial clients.

On-site, VIB Tech Satellite Antwerp offers two single-cell platforms (10X Genomics & BD Rhapsody), with a plethora of single cell assays. Whether you are interested in population heterogeneity, transcriptomic profiles or epigenetic effects at single-cell level, our broad portfolio of optimized workflows offers a solution for every need. In addition, through our satellite facility, you can rely on the innovation, expertise and support of the entire VIB Single Cell Core team.

Flow Cytometry @ VIB Antwerp
VIB Tech Satellite Antwerp provides a service platform dedicated to offering researchers seamless access to state-of-the-art flow cytometry devices. Our mission is to offer support at every step of your flow-cytometry experiment. Through hands-on training we empower researcher with the skills and knowledge to independently use our portfolio of flow cytometry analysers and FACS devices. In addition, we provide help and tools to ensure optimal panel design, guide you through the intricacies of acquisition and providing expertise in data analysis, ensuring that every experiment yields meaningful insights.

From conventional to spectral
Flow cytometry enables precise analysis of cell populations and characteristics at single cell level,. Unsing fluorescent markers to discern differences in protein expression, DNA content and functional state, our platforms allow you to unravel complex biological questions, ranging from immunology to plant biology. Depending on device configuration, multiple parameters (morphological and fluorescent) of millions of cells can be analyzed. VIB Tech Satellite Antwerp houses both a conventional and spectral flow cytometer, offering a range of applications from 10 to over 40 parameters!
FACS
Interested in a specific cell population to study beyond flow cytometery? With Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorting (FACS), cells with selected properties (morphological and/or fluorescent) from a hetereogenous sample can be analyzed and diverted to seperate recipient. Our facility features a Milltenyi MACSQuant Tyto allowing two-way sorting in a enclosed, sterile system without sample loss.
VIB Flow Core
As part of VIB Technologies, our satellite facility is supported by the VIB Flow Core Gent and VIB Flow Core Leuven, which house extensive expertise and a broad portfolio of flow cytometer analyzers, FACS cell sorters, and multiplexing devices. Our close collaboration ensures top-quality services and access to devices beyond our in-house portfolio.
