Grand challenges

Grand Challenges Program

The VIB Grand Challenges Program (GCP) is a translational research program that aims to increase the societal impact footprint of VIB's research, by providing structural and financial support for research projects that focus on an unmet societal need. By teaming up with experts outside VIB who have complementary expertise, our researchers can generate new, otherwise untapped avenues to create added value for society.
Translational Research

Translational Research

VIB has been very successful in both knowledge creation by means of its basic research and in translating this knowledge into societal and economic impact, through a professional process of pro-active technology transfer.
Responsible Research

Responsible Research

VIB ensures that all its scientists are trained to conduct their research in the most responsible way. VIB has a policy to promote safety, bioethics and integrity in research.
